Old School Goth

As much as I hate this term it does set things into perspective a bit, the so called "Old School" or the "die Hards" are those goths who embraced goth back in the early days before it became something of a three ring curcus that it has become today. The old school tend to frequent old haunts and new and at times still keeep some of thier pretentiousness about them eyeing the younger goths they tend to encourage or destroy with a look (hehe), they walk around goth type clubs like they own it and have a god given right to be there and woe betide anyone who says otherwise.....sorry am I bieng synical? well that is how I see them you seee I am one who says "the pretentious 80's goths" which I am old enough to remember that is the same attitude in many ways the whole thing of bieng there at the time it all began back in the days of the bands first starting up like Alien Sex Fiend and the liike who came about due to a drunken bost by Nick Fiend in the once popular Bat Cave club. Do not get me wrong I am in no way out to mar the name of goth but there was that element who were maticulious in every detail, the way they dressed, the way they wore thier make up, swanned around etc, that was one reason I turned my back on goth many years ago you see I was always more the Gothic/Punk type and while i made myself up to look every inch a goth I still had the attitude that yes my make up will run and smudge, yes I will fall over in a drunken state, yes I may well loose some item of clothing that I held most dear all before the end of the night but unlike most I did not give a F***, as far as I was concearned I was out to have a laugh and a good night come what may I used to find it hysterical that if one goth was sat there and a smallest of small part of face whittener came off they would vurtually run into the toilets and take about an hour to reopair the damage.

Still it was all in good fun ;-)
